Our client, an US based company with worldwide operations, is highly renowned
for providing Enterprise Content Management (ECM) products.
Our client’s document management software offers integrated
document management capabilities designed to help ease the burden
of processing the capture, retrieval and storage of information
and transactions by automating expensive and inefficient manual
business processes.

The Challenge:
The client was on the look out to have Software QA and Testing
done on various modules of their Integrated Document and Records
Management System.
The modules to be tested
included:
- Server (2):
- The Primary server acted as
a repository
for Images, Email, Electronic
Documents,
Outgoing Correspondence, COLD
(Computer
Output to Laser Disk ),Multimedia files, etc.
- The Secondary
server captures,
indexes and
stores print output into
the main
server.
- Document Capture (1):
- This module scans,
adds indexing info
and stores the documents digitally in the fomr of images
- Document Processing (2):
- One module (Document
Format Conversion
Server) converts documents stored on
the server
to different formats. This is to facilitate
web search
for images that are
not stored
in web-ready formats like JPEG, PNG
- The second module (Document
Processing Server) processes document formats on Windows
Platform.
For instance, conversion of documents
to Thumbnail
format for
Client applications
- Search and Retrieval (3):
- One
module serves
as a Desktop client that
allows user
to save, index and
search documents
in repository,
Windows Explorer, Microsoft Outlook.
- The second module
serves as
a Web Browser client that
allows performing
ad-hoc searches,
display lists
of matching
titles, and display and manipulate the associated documents
- The third module
is a Web services tool kit that
allows user
to develop
applications based on web standards
such as building
a customized Client or integrating available functionality into
legacy applications
- Workflow (2):
- One module (Case
management Client) is
a non-configurable
Business
process rapid automation
tool. It
manages indexing and matching, case processing, inquiry
and CM configuration
- The second module (Work flow client) is
a workflow
product in which items of work are managed as they progress
through a business process from beginning to end
