In GPS Tracking market space; there is a mismatch between what the products offered and what the end users require. We envisioned a low-cost GPS based product which would abridge this mismatch.

Our Approach

We divided the system in two parts – GPS tracking device and the web server. The device is installed in the moving object and gets the position from GPS satellite in real-time. It then sends the position information to the server via GPS. The data is checked for validity and saved into the database. When a user wants to track the device, he/she logs on the website and gets the live position of the device on Map. Users can also see location history of the device.

The Challenge

• We had to devise a low-cost solution. To achieve this goal, we used GPRS based data transfer from the device to the server. GPRS based data transfer is cost-effective as compared to SMS based system. We also defined a protocol which involves minimum amount of data transfer
